Diversity in today’s market is a must. You can flip through the channels, or turn the pages in magazines and see many faces that reflect our own in the lgbtq community. However in the 80s-90s media would’ve had a field day. Although times back then were much harder for us to gain public acceptance. We were able to have breakthrough stars. In Fashion we had Connie Fleming, a unsung shero who blazed the runways and brought life to Thierry Mugler designs and was featured in Azzedine Alaia’s Book. She became popular for her walk. Although she faced some set backs due to transphobia she still left a mark on fashion and helped paved the way for the diversity we can’t get enough of today. Connie we thank you and we can’t forget you!
